Life in Santa Cruz: May 1st - …2026

For the most part MerSea B has taken a back-seat to our activities this summer. -Which pretty much has only consisted of work & a few instances where we’ve happily pulled ourselves away to hang out with friends.

‍ ‍I guess, although you can’t tell from the photos below, the weather has been kind of a bummer. It’s been like winter here most days. Yesterday it rained but then it actually got up to 80 degrees today! So, we haven’t really wanted to spend a whole lot of time outside here. We’ve been dreaming of sunny Mexico consistently. Although, then it would be harder to be motivated to work. 😂

Another thing going on is that there has been on & off beach hazard warnings for the last few months. -Large waves & a strong rip-current. And some sneaker waves which have sadly taken the lives of a few people here.

Downtown Santa Cruz is changing!

The never-ending bridge construction. It’s supposed to be done by January 2028.

Had an awesome sailing day & then anchored out. Zephyr waited until the sun came out to participate.

Ever-changing sea state here.

Beautiful view at anchor.

Matt has been getting a few fishies. -At least when the wave action was mellow.

Blue Heron that stayed long enough for me to get a photo.

A very mini video! Under 5 minutes. So take a break! Relax!

Matt & Zephyr have been taking an aero-yoga class.

Thanks for watching & reading. The projects will be coming soon. So in a few weeks we’ll have those videos!
