San Carlos Part 2 - Hasta Luego: March 25th - April 22nd, 2025

Well, here we are, at the end of another cruising season. The second week in San Carlos was pretty much dedicated to getting ready to haul out MerSea & get her completely cleaned & ready to be on her own for 6 months again.

Matt made some doctor appointments while he was in town. He actually got his colonoscopy done down there! Excellent medical facilities. You could probably lick the floor in this hospital & not get sick! Matt took some video footage of it. -So check it out!

Haul out day finally came! It was a bit different than hauling out at Puerto Peñasco. Basically a tractor pulled it out of the water & then pulled it down the road to their dry marina. A bit unusual. But the guys handling it were pros & I wasn’t too worried after I started watching the process.

We spent a day in the workyard fixing her up pretty before moving into the storage yard.

We knew that it would be much easier if we got an Airbnb for a few days while getting MerSea situated. So I found one & it was pretty awesome & had an incredible view. The one downside was that it was at the top of a very, very steep hill. And without a car that became our daily workout! However, Jenn was kind enough to help us get all of our luggage transported in her bus. Thanks Jenn!

We spent one last morning on MerSea getting the last of her prepped for storage. They actually moved our boat into dry storage early. You’re not supposed to spend more than a half hour in your boat in dry storage but since they moved us early, they gave us an exception.

And that was it! We were off to Puerto Peñasco the next day on a shuttle with a wonderful driver, Omar! It’s a 6 hour drive! If anyone needs a ride from San Carlos to Puerto Peñasco give Omar a call! - +52-662-134-1068.

So here’s the video of all the shenanigans we were up to during our last week! And yes, that is a photo of Matt after his colonoscopy. -The drugs hadn’t worn off yet. 🤣
