Although it would have to be a pretty basic boat. Plus, we didn't go outside the harbor. But we did practice in the harbor channel. I can tack & jibe now.

We did it! We started taking our sailing lessons! Some things we did already know but some things I thought I knew but were wrong. For example, I've been thinking that what I thought were halyards were really shrouds.

It might seem crazy that this is my dream. We are not sailing experts. We've only sailed small boats a few times by ourselves.

After Catalina sailing, we started taking other sailing trips around the world with my family. My sister & her family live in the BVI. For their wedding we stayed on a 40+ foot catamaran & I loved it!

High school came along & my dad decided he wanted to start joining some family friends, including Brian & Jackie, to Catalina. Not Avalon, this is a place on the north east side of Catalina called Emerald Bay.

So why & how did I come to the decision that I want to sail around the world? It’s kind of a long story but if you have time read on.

Not sure where to even start but I feel like this month is a new start to my life. There was no event that occurred, just a voice from within/my spirit guides/God/The Universe - whatever you would like to call it, led me to know what I really want & what would make me really happy.
