A Little Family Fun In Santa Cruz!: August 12th - 17th, 2025

While waiting around to go back to Mexico, we were honored to have my sister -Brynley, our niece -Ayla & our brother-in-law, Colin visit us in Santa Cruz.

This blog could actually also be a little itinerary for anyone thinking about coming to Santa Cruz. There’s a lot to see here! And we’ve almost seen it all. But it’s always fun having out of towners come in to force you to do something you’ve been meaning to do for the last 30 years!

The Mystery Spot

Hiking around UCSC

Makai, on the Wharf, for dinner.

Ayla, Brynley & I took an afternoon to walk down the street to the Boardwalk while the guys were busy. It was the first week of school for a lot of kids. So, it was fairly un-crowded & we didn’t have to wait in lines for more than a minute or 2.

Finally! It took my sister planning & a Troll Exhibit to get me to Filoli. I can’t believe I hadn’t been before. -It’s only an hour away. I’ve made tentative plans time & time again to go to this magical place. It only took 30 years for me to get there!

Filoli House & Gardens & Troll Exhibit

On their last day in town, Brynley, Ayla, Matt & I went hiking up in the hills. (Colin had to work.) It was perfect weather & the perfect amount of hiking before rushing back home to pack & fly off to the redwoods further north.

Fall Creek/Lime Kilns Trail

Wishing you could be watching us on MerSea in some exotic place? So do we! 😂 However, it was really awesome to see our family while on land in Santa Cruz. So, if you’re interested in seeing what that was like, click below to watch!

Don’t worry, we’ll be getting back to boat stuff soon. I think next week! Please don’t give up on us.

The cute but not so bright Zephyr Wolf stealthily hides himself in the forest awaiting his prey.

Thanks for reading & watching! Next week will be interesting. That’s all I can say for now.
