The Last 5 Octobers

I thought, before returning to current life next week, that I’d take a look back at the last few Octobers. We’ve definitely come quite a way since 2020!

October 2020 - Foxie

During the time of Covid 19 & just after the fires in Northern California there wasn’t much we could go out & do. Thankfully we had Foxie, our 14’ Catalina Capri. Actually, we still have her & she reminds us how to sail when we’re back in Santa Cruz & can’t be on MerSea.

October 2021 - Belize

Even though we had MerSea at this time we we off on another boat in Belize. -Taking the trip that we had planned for in March 2020. Yep. We were very stoked that we got a credit & could finally go a year & a half later.

October 2022 - Shakedown Cruise to Catalina

And what a shakedown cruise it was! So many things broke. The weather we sailed in was not conducive to sailing. I questioned the choice of this sailing life. But luckily we got that most sorted out at the beginning & we were able to enjoy the rest of the experience.

October 2023 - Mexico!

This was definitely the most exciting thing we had done so far! Couldn’t believe we were going to take MerSea all the way down to Mexico & into the Sea of Cortez! It wasn’t easy. It was a little scary at times but most of it was an amazing experience. An experience that convinced us to keep doing this again & again.

October 2024 - A Month in Puerto Peñasco

Yes, it was a very hot & dusty month. Matt fixed up MerSea to be the perfect Sea of Cortez cruising boat! Many long, long, futile days in the boatyard. Very thankful for the great sailing community at Cabrales Boatyard!

So no real video this week. Unless you want to see Zephyr’s announcement below:

The long month in Puerto Peñasco. October 2024. Zephyr was exhausted from all of the boat work!

Yes, I know. We are missing October 2025. We will be sharing that next week. Possibly with a big announcement!?… Thanks for reading!
